Conquering the Gates of the Karst Plateau
Our riding pack kicks off at 8:30 AM right from your hotel. Leaving the city behind, you will test your cornering lines immediately on the sweeping, scenic curves of the Bac Sum Pass. Watch the landscape shift dramatically as towering limestone peaks rise up around you. Follow your guide’s line up to Quan Ba Heaven’s Gate, where we’ll park the bikes for a quick walk to the summit to take in the panoramic views of the misty valley below.
After a hearty lunch in the peaceful village of Yen Minh, it’s time to face the legendary Tham Ma Pass—the iconic nine-turn switchback that is an absolute dream for motorcycle enthusiasts. Once at the top, your guide will lead you to Sa Phin village to explore the stone fortress of the century-old H'Mong King’s Palace and uncover its fascinating tribal history. We’ll spend the final hour of the day cruising deep into the UNESCO Global Geopark, arriving in the historic border outpost of Dong Van by 4:00 PM.
Highlight: Leaning your machine into the flawless switchbacks of Tham Ma Pass and entering the dramatic rock valleys of the Karst Geopark.
Overnight: Dong Van Hotel/ Homestay
The Mighty Ma Pi Leng and Hidden Valley Roads
If your gears lock into a Sunday morning, follow your guide into the high-energy chaos of the Dong Van Market to witness hill tribes trading colorful handmade textiles and livestock. Once we are packed up, open the throttle for the undisputed "superstar" of the loop: the Ma Pi Leng Pass. Following your lead guide’s rhythm through these massive cliffside curves, staring thousands of feet down into the canyon where the emerald-green Nho Que River cuts through the rock, is bound to give you goosebumps.
After conquering the pass, we’ll point our front tires south toward the hidden paradise of Du Gia Village. This 50-kilometer stretch of road winds through thousands of conical limestone peaks, deep valleys, and lush terraced fields. Your guide knows the best roadside spots to pull over for a hot coffee, a quick rest, and epic photos. By late afternoon, we’ll roll into the peaceful, postcard-perfect valley of Du Gia, where you can kick back with a cold drink and unwind after an exhilarating day on the road.
Highlight: The pure adrenaline rush of commanding your own throttle across the vertical, jaw-dropping cliffs of Ma Pi Leng Pass.
Overnight: Hotel in Du Gia Village
Jungle Springs and the Final Mountain Descent
We set off from Du Gia village after a cozy breakfast, riding through the emerald-green rice terraces that define this stunning region. Our first technical stop of the day is the hidden Du Gia Waterfall, a pristine oasis tucked deep within a lush jungle canopy. Strip off your riding jacket and jump into the crystal-clear, cool mountain waters for a refreshing swim, or just kick back on the smooth river stones to soak in the peaceful vibe.
Once recharged, hop back on your machine for the final, beautiful leg of the loop. We’ll cruise along spectacular terraced fields, navigating mountain roads, small streams, and riding past traditional stilt houses where local ethnic minorities continue their daily routines. Take in the vast limestone karsts one last time before your guide leads the pack down the final mountain descent. We will roll back into Ha Giang City around 3:00 PM, officially wrapping up an epic, self-driven 3-day loop full of incredible corners, great laughs, and unforgettable memories.
Highlight: A refreshing morning swim at the hidden Du Gia Waterfall and enjoying the final sweeping mountain descents back to civilization.
