What riding experience is required?
Our tours are designed for riders with previous motorcycle experience. Participants should be confident handling a manual motorcycle on varying road conditions, including mountain roads, gravel sections, and changing weather.
What motorcycles are available?
Choose the motorcycle that best suits your experience and riding style:
Is it safe?
Safety is our highest priority.
Our guides have many years of riding experience and know the mountain roads extremely well. We avoid busy highways whenever possible, choosing quiet scenic roads with minimal traffic.
Our riding pace is relaxed, with frequent breaks to enjoy the scenery, take photographs, and experience local life.
Whether you ride yourself or travel with an Easy Rider, our guides will ensure the journey is enjoyable, comfortable, and safe.
How many hours do we ride each day?
Most riding days cover approximately 150–200 km, depending on the route.
You can expect around 5–8 hours on the road, including plenty of stops for sightseeing, coffee breaks, local visits, meals, and photography.
This is not a race—we ride at a comfortable pace so you can fully enjoy Vietnam's incredible scenery.
What should I bring?
We recommend travelling with:
Your main luggage will be securely fastened to the motorcycle and protected with a waterproof cover whenever necessary.
Backpacks are much more practical than hard suitcases for motorcycle travel.
When is the best time to visit Vietnam?
Vietnam is a long country with different weather patterns throughout the year.
Generally:
Although each region has a rainy season, rain usually comes in short showers rather than lasting all day. The countryside is especially beautiful during the green season, with lush rice terraces and spectacular waterfalls.
If you're unsure when to travel, we're happy to recommend the best itinerary based on your dates.
How much cash should I bring?
Vietnam's currency is the Vietnamese Dong (VND).
Your tour already includes most major expenses, so you'll only need cash for personal purchases such as drinks, snacks, souvenirs, or optional tips.
ATMs are widely available in towns and cities, and most international bank cards work without problems.
Do I need travel insurance?
Yes.
Comprehensive travel insurance that covers motorcycle travel is mandatory for all participants.
Please ensure your policy includes medical expenses, personal accidents, and emergency evacuation where applicable.
What permits are included?
All required permits for your tour are included in the tour price, including the Ha Giang Border Area Permit where required.
There are no hidden permit fees.
What is the average group size?
Most tours operate with small groups of 4–10 riders. Smaller groups allow for greater flexibility, personalized attention, and a more enjoyable riding experience.
Is a support vehicle included?
Most tours do not include a support vehicle. Luggage is transported on the motorcycle, and our guides provide mechanical assistance throughout the journey. For private groups, support vehicle arrangements may be available upon request.
What happens if the motorcycle breaks down?
Our motorcycles are regularly serviced and maintained to high standards. In the unlikely event of a mechanical issue, your guide will provide roadside assistance or arrange a replacement motorcycle whenever possible.
Are fuel costs included?
Yes. Fuel for the tour motorcycle is included unless otherwise stated in the tour itinerary.
What accommodation is included?
Accommodation varies by route and destination but generally includes carefully selected hotels, guesthouses, and local homestays that offer comfort, cleanliness, and authentic experiences.
What meals are included?
Most tours include daily breakfast and selected lunches or dinners as specified in the itinerary. Vietnam's diverse cuisine is an important part of the adventure, and there will be opportunities to experience regional specialties throughout the trip.
What riding gear should I bring?
We recommend bringing:
Helmets are provided, although many riders prefer to bring their own.
Can I join as a solo rider?
Absolutely. Many of our guests travel solo and join scheduled departures. Small group tours are a great way to meet fellow riders from around the world.
Do I need vaccinations before visiting Vietnam?
No specific vaccinations are required for most visitors. However, we recommend consulting your doctor or travel clinic before departure for the latest health advice.
Can dietary requirements be accommodated?
Yes. Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and most dietary requirements can be accommodated with advance notice.
What happens in case of bad weather?
Tours operate in most weather conditions. Our experienced guides may adjust daily routes or schedules when necessary to ensure safety and comfort.
Why choose a guided self-riding tour instead of renting a motorcycle independently?
A guided self-riding tour combines the freedom of independent riding with the security of local expertise. Our team handles route planning, accommodation, logistics, navigation, and mechanical support, allowing you to focus entirely on enjoying the ride and discovering Vietnam's hidden highlights.
