Coastal roads, winding mountain passes and the cool highlands
Leave the coast behind and begin the ride inland with a visit to the historic Po Nagar Cham Towers, an important reminder of the ancient Champa civilisation. Continue west along winding mountain roads as the landscape changes from coastal lowlands to forested hills and cooler highland scenery.
The route crosses Hon Giao Pass, where sweeping bends and mountain viewpoints provide opportunities to stop and enjoy the views. Along the way, pass rural settlements, green fields and plantations before reaching Dalat.
Depending on the route and available time, visit Linh Phuoc Pagoda, famous for its intricate glass and ceramic mosaics and striking dragon sculpture. Arrive in Dalat in the late afternoon and enjoy the city's cool climate and relaxed atmosphere.

The flooded village in the Central Highlands
Highland riding, coffee country and peaceful lakeside roads
Ride out of Dalat through flower-growing villages and coffee plantations, following rural roads that reveal the agricultural character of the Central Highlands. Stop at a local coffee plantation to learn about coffee production and enjoy a freshly brewed cup. Depending on availability, visit a traditional rice wine producer and a silk workshop before continuing towards Elephant Waterfall and Linh An Pagoda, home to the towering Lady Buddha statue. The ride then follows countryside roads through rice fields, farming communities and small villages. By late afternoon, arrive at Lak Lake, where the open water and surrounding highlands provide a peaceful end to a rewarding day on the road.

Discovering the magnificent Dray Sap Waterfall
Rural Roads, M’nong Culture and a Refreshing Swim at Dray Sap Waterfall

Riding along the legendary Ho Chi Minh Road
Long-distance riding along Ho Chi Minh Road
Today’s ride follows Ho Chi Minh Road through the agricultural landscapes of southern Vietnam. Longer stretches of road and broad countryside views create a different riding experience, allowing riders to settle into a steady rhythm while passing rubber plantations, pepper farms and cashew-growing areas. Where access is available, stop at local plantations or processing facilities to learn about these important regional products. The route also passes through a region associated with the historic Ho Chi Minh Road, offering a connection to Vietnam’s wartime past. Continue south through rural settlements and changing landscapes before arriving in Dong Xoai for the night.
Overnight: Homestay/ Hotel.
The final ride into vibrant Ho Chi Minh City
Countryside riding, Cu Chi Tunnels and the final approach to Saigon
Set off from Dong Xoai for the final riding day towards Ho Chi Minh City. Follow the southern countryside roads, with a possible stop at a historic bridge or local landmark depending on the route and timing. Continue towards the famous Cu Chi Tunnels, where preserved sections and historical displays reveal how the extensive underground network was used during the Vietnam War. After the visit and lunch, ride onwards towards Saigon. The quieter rural roads gradually give way to busier traffic and urban streets, creating a striking contrast with the open roads of the Central Highlands. Arrive in Ho Chi Minh City in the afternoon, completing five days of self-riding through Vietnam’s diverse landscapes with Vietnam Motorbike Tours.
Tour ends: Ho Chi Minh City.
