Our 7-Day Northwest Vietnam Motorbike Tour begins as we leave Hanoi and ride into the peaceful countryside of Northern Vietnam. The route takes us through traditional villages, rice fields, rolling hills, and quiet rural roads, offering a refreshing escape from the busy capital.
As we approach Yen Bai Province, the scenery opens up to Thac Ba Lake, one of Vietnam’s largest artificial lakes. Surrounded by forested hills and hundreds of small islands, the lake is often called the “Ha Long Bay of the Mountains.”
After checking in at our homestay, enjoy a scenic boat trip across Thac Ba Lake. Cruise through calm waters surrounded by green islands, fishing villages, and peaceful mountain scenery.
In the evening, enjoy a delicious local dinner and unwind by the peaceful lake, soaking in the tranquil atmosphere before the mountain adventure continues.

After breakfast, leave Thac Ba Lake and ride deeper into the mountains of Northern Vietnam. The road winds through peaceful valleys, ethnic minority villages, forests, and remote countryside rarely visited by tourists.
The route gradually climbs towards Gio Pass, where spectacular mountain views open across the surrounding valleys and forest-covered peaks. The winding road and quiet scenery make this a rewarding section of the Northwest Vietnam Motorbike Tour.
Continuing towards Xin Man and Hoang Su Phi, the landscape changes dramatically as vast rice terraces appear across the steep mountainsides. Carefully shaped by generations of local farmers, the terraces are among the most beautiful landscapes in Northern Vietnam.
Along the way, we pass through traditional villages and have opportunities to meet local ethnic communities and experience their way of life.
Arrive in Hoang Su Phi in the late afternoon and settle into a traditional hillside homestay overlooking the terraced valleys.

After breakfast, we continue our 7-Day Northwest Vietnam Motorbike Tour through the spectacular mountains of Northern Vietnam. The morning ride takes us through areas known for ancient Shan Tuyet tea plantations, where centuries-old tea trees grow in the cool highland climate.
We then continue towards Bac Ha, passing remote villages, mountain valleys, and traditional farming communities. If the tour falls on a Sunday, there is an opportunity to visit Bac Ha Market, one of the most colorful ethnic markets in Northern Vietnam. Hmong, Dao, Tay, and other local communities gather here to trade livestock, produce, handicrafts, and local specialties.
After exploring Bac Ha, we continue through scenic mountain roads towards Sapa, passing rugged valleys and terraced hillsides along the way.
By late afternoon, arrive in Sapa, located beneath the impressive Hoang Lien Son Mountain Range and Fansipan, the highest mountain in Indochina. Enjoy some free time to explore the town, visit the stone church, or simply relax and enjoy the cool mountain atmosphere.
Overnight: Hotel or Homestay in Sapa.

Leave Sapa and begin one of the most spectacular riding days of the tour. We climb towards O Quy Ho Pass, one of Vietnam’s Four Great Mountain Passes and one of the highest roads in the country.
The winding road crosses the Hoang Lien Son Mountain Range, offering breathtaking views of rugged peaks, deep valleys, and clouds drifting across the mountains.
After descending from O Quy Ho Pass, continue towards Mu Cang Chai, one of Northern Vietnam’s most famous destinations for terraced rice fields.
In the afternoon, ride through Mam Xoi Hill, where enormous rice terraces cover the mountainsides. Created by generations of Hmong farmers, these terraces create spectacular scenery that changes with the seasons.

The pass offers spectacular mountain views, winding roads, and sweeping curves, making it one of the most exciting sections of the 7-Day Northwest Vietnam Motorbike Tour.
After descending from Khau Pha Pass, we enter the beautiful Tu Le Valley, known for its rice fields, green hills, and traditional Thai villages. Depending on the season, you may have a chance to taste local specialties such as Tu Le sticky rice.
After lunch, continue through Nghia Lo before climbing towards Ta Xua. As the altitude increases, the scenery becomes more dramatic, with winding mountain roads, deep valleys, and clouds moving across the ridges.
Arrive in Ta Xua in the late afternoon, one of Vietnam’s most famous destinations for cloud hunting. Weather permitting, visit the spectacular Dinosaur Backbone Ridge and Lonely Tree for panoramic mountain views and sunset.

Take time to explore the peaceful villages and experience the slower pace of rural life. In the evening, enjoy a traditional home-cooked dinner with a local Thai family.
