The mountain road up to 1,500 meters above sea level from Nha Trang
Before leaving Nha Trang, we stop at the ancient Ponagar Tower, a Cham Hindu temple that once belonged to the prosperous Kingdom of Champa (2nd–19th century). The temple showcases a unique blend of local and Indian-inspired architecture and remains a significant cultural site.
From here, we ride west into the mountains, following winding roads through lush forests and breathtaking scenery. At Mountain 723 (1,500m above sea level), we pause to admire the panoramic views and a natural waterfall before continuing through sugar plantations and rice fields.
On the way to Dalat, we visit the remarkable Linh Phuoc Pagoda, famous for its intricate mosaics made from broken glass and ceramics, including a stunning dragon statue crafted from thousands of colorful pieces. By late afternoon, we arrive in Dalat around 4:00 pm.
Overnight: Hotel in Dalat.

The countryside road in Lak town
Leaving Da Lat at 8:30 am, you pass through flower farms ablaze with daisies, gerberas, and roses—a true canvas of color. The road soon winds into coffee country, where plantations grow Arabica, Robusta, and Moka beans. Here, you savor Vietnam’s world-famous weasel coffee, paired with a sip of homemade rice wine—fondly called “happy water.”
Next, the ride stops at a silkworm factory, where delicate threads are spun into shimmering fabrics, followed by a visit to the thundering Elephant Waterfall and a towering Buddha statue at a peaceful pagoda.
Descending into the lowlands, you pass through stilt-house villages and shimmering rice paddies. By late afternoon, the road opens to the vast Lak Lake. Arriving around 5 pm, you check into a lakeside hotel and enjoy the serene view as the sky reflects on still waters dotted with fishermen’s canoes.
Overnight: Lak Lake Hotel.

The M'nong people go back home from the farm
At sunrise, Lak Lake comes alive with soft ripples and the sound of paddles. You board a traditional canoe, gliding past stilt houses of the M’nong people, water buffalo grazing along the shore, and fishermen casting nets with practiced ease.
Crossing into the village, you’ll see bamboo houses, simple yet harmonious with the land. Depending on the season, you may witness lively folk music and dance performed by locals in colorful attire.
The ride continues to the breathtaking Dray Sap Waterfall, where mist rises from the cascading water and the air feels fresh and wild. Take a picnic here, or dip into the pools for a refreshing swim.
As you approach Buon Ma Thuot, the regional capital of coffee, the landscape changes to rice fields, pepper farms, and even cocoa plantations. Stops at a mushroom farm and incense workshop offer glimpses of local life before arriving in town by evening.

Riding on the Ho Chi Minh road
The day begins with a visit to the Dak Lak Cultural and Historical Museum, where ethnology exhibits reveal the traditions of the Ede, Ja Rai, and M’nong peoples, alongside wartime relics and artifacts.
Riding out of the city, the air grows cleaner as the route passes rubber plantations and pepper farms. Stop for coffee in a roadside hammock café, the kind of simple joy that defines Vietnam’s highland journeys.
By afternoon, the sound of rushing water draws you to Phu Cuong Waterfall, hidden in a pocket of forest. After soaking in its beauty, the ride continues toward Chu Se, arriving around 4 pm. Here, life slows down, with rice fields stretching into the horizon and stilt houses dotting the green landscape.
Overnight: Homestay/ Hotel.

Enjoy time at the Sea Lake
Today’s journey follows the legendary Ho Chi Minh Trail, a route rich in history and breathtaking landscapes. A highlight along the way is Sea Lake, a volcanic crater known as “The Eyes of Pleiku,” its sapphire waters glistening amid tall pine forests.
Continue to a tea plantation nestled on rolling hills, where you can enjoy a cup of fresh green tea and take in the serene surroundings. A nearby lying-Buddha temple offers a moment of peace before the road leads into Kon Tum.
In Kon Tum, explore the Wooden Church, built by French missionaries in 1913, featuring Gothic architecture crafted with local materials. Visit Kon K’tu village, where stilted Rong houses stand as proud symbols of ethnic heritage and community. Experience the warmth of local traditions and enjoy the peaceful highland evening.

The tank was used during the Vietnam War on Ho Chi Minh Road

Further along is the Indochina T-Junction, where the borders of Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia meet—a place that carries both strategic importance and symbolic unity.
Streams and waterfalls tumble from the jungle hillsides, offering chances to rest, cool your feet, and soak in the untamed beauty of the Central Highlands. By evening, you arrive in Kham Duc, a quiet town nestled in the mountains, checking into your hotel around 5 pm.
