PHU QUOC ISLAND – KIEN GIANG PROVINCE

    Phu Quoc is a beautiful archipelago located deep in the Gulf of Thailand, in Kien Giang province. In the south of Vietnam, Phu Quoc Island is the largest island with clear seawater, peaceful streams and many unique seafood which are great advantages of Phu Quoc tourism.

    Time to travel to Phu Quoc island

    November to March is the best time to travel to Phu Quoc because the weather is pleasant with bright sunlight and a clear sky. This is the peak season with a large number of visitors because it coincides with the Western winter-spring holiday. However, hotel room and service prices increase during this time. Therefore, you should make reservations in advance to avoid scarcity.

    Phu Quoc from April to June is not a recommended time to travel since this time is the rainy season in the South, which can affect your trip. However, this time is not a high season, the prices of accommodation services are not too high, suitable for those who want an economical trip. Phu Quoc often has storms at this time, the number of visitors to Phu Quoc is less, and many services are closed or discounted. Therefore, this season is the low season of Phu Quoc tourism. Tourists often do not choose this season because storms can have a dangerous impact on their journey to explore Pearl Island.

    Places to visit Phu Quoc

    MUI DINH CAU

    Dinh Cau Cape is a famous landscape in Phu Quoc. In particular, watching the sunset here is something that any tourist traveling to Phu Quoc should not miss.

    BA TEMPLE – DINH BA

    Dinh Ba Thuy Long Thanh Mau is also known as Dinh Ba for short. Along with Dinh Cau, Dinh Ba is the most sacred and famous place in Phu Quoc. Dinh Ba is located on the right bank of the Cua Can River. Currently, Dinh Ba has been built and renovated to be much more spacious.

    Inside the Grandmother’s Palace is the altar worshiping Mrs. Kim Giao, also known as the goddess Kim Giao. Legend has it that she once conceived Lord Nguyen Phuc Anh during her days in seclusion. Through many ups and downs of history, Dinh Ba has now become a tourist destination that most tourists cannot miss.

    PHU QUOC NIGHT MARKET

    The night market is located on Bach Dang Street, about 1 km from Dinh Cau. It operates every evening until late on weekends, including many stalls selling fresh seafood and local specialties such as fish sauce, myrtle candy, pepper and handicrafts. In addition to sightseeing and shopping, visitors should not forget to enjoy fresh seafood dishes sold and prepared at the market.

    MUSEUM OF ROOTS – BẢO TÀNG CỘI NGUỒN

    The 9th private museum currently in Vietnam is considered to preserve stories about Phu Quoc island, “Soul Phu Quoc. Coi Nguon Museum preserves more than 3,000 antiques, including 300 sets of precious directories about Phu Quoc in Chinese, Vietnamese, English, and French characters. Besides, there are areas displaying wood art, a sea snail art area, a souvenir and pearl product area, and a traditional stilt house area in Phu Quoc countryside. 

    ONG LANG BEACH- BÃI TẮM ÔNG LANG

    Ong Lang Phu Quoc Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches on pearl island, only about 7 km from Duong Dong town center. Although located quite close to the city center, this place is little known.

    HAM NINH FISHING VILLAGE

    Ham Ninh fishing village is located on the east coast of the island. Behind are mountains and forests, and in front is the vast sea. This place is chosen by many people as one of the most beautiful sunrise viewing spots in Phu Quoc because it has a mountainous terrain behind it, and in front of it is the sea. People can easily move around, build fishing rafts and trade near the shore because the Ham Ninh Sea is still dry several hundred meters away.

    PHU QUOC NATIONAL PARK

    Phu Quoc National Park is an attractive tourist destination for tourists who love adventure. With large primeval forests that still retain their inherent wildness. Located in the northeast of Phu Quoc island, Kien Giang province, Phu Quoc National Park is considered one of the national parks that still retains intact primeval forests, featuring majestic natural scenery of mountains, forests, streams, waterfalls, and the sea.

    PEPPER FARM – VƯỜN TIÊU KHU TƯỢNG

    Phu Quoc pepper is famous for its spiciness and has a stronger aroma than pepper grown in other countries. On the way from Duong Dong to Ganh Dau, looking at both sides of the road, you will see very beautiful pepper gardens. After visiting, you can also buy some dried pepper as a gift for your loved ones.

    PHU QUOC PRISON

    Phu Quoc Prison, also known as “Cay Dua Prison” and considered “hell on earth” for imprisoning thousands of patriotic prisoners. When coming here, visitors will see, hear and feel the physical and mental pain of prisoners of war under extremely brutal torture by the enemy. Most tourists have curiosity and desire to learn about wartime stories and brutal crimes against soldiers and patriots during the American period and French colonial rule.

    TRANH STREAM – SUOI TRANH

    Located about 10 km from Duong Dong town, Tranh Stream is a branch originating from the Ham Ninh mountain range. It is formed by small gurgling streams. The natural scenery at Suoi Tranh is extremely harmonious. It is a harmony between small, calm waterfalls and clear spring water, clearly illuminating the foliage above. Interspersed with the foliage are beautiful branches of forest orchids. All create a beautiful landscape painting, the name “Tranh” stream also came from there.

    Phu Quoc Scuba Diving
